Province of Namur goes with Asterisk based telephony
The province of Namur is switching to a Voice over IP solution based on Asterisk. The solution is provided by Escaux, which was present at the Profoss Asterisk event in october.
3Com distributes Digium's Asterisk Appliance
3Com, which is going private in a $2.2 billion deal, announced that it will offer Digium's Asterisk Appliance targetted to the SMB market.
Digium acquires Switchvox
As a confirmation of Kevin P. Fleming's statement that Digium was moving to become a solutions provider, Digium announced the acquisition of Switchvox. Switchvox develops an "easy to set up PBX system, customizable for your business".
The plan seems to be to move functionality from Switchvox' product into the open source Asterisk.

Asterisk 1.2.24 and 1.4.10 released
Asterisk, subject of the next Profoss event, has seen two new versions published, The 1.2.24 is the final in the 1.2 series, as it will only be updated with security fixes from now on. Version 1.4.10 contains security fixes. Both releases can be downloaded now.
Digium proposes subscription base service
Digium, the company behind Asterisk, subject of the next Profoss event, has announced a subscription based service offering. The service is available at three levels: Silver, Gold and Platinum, and is meant to give customers and partners faster, easier and unlimited access to Digium service and support.
