IronRuby: a first version to test

A first version of IronRuby is now available under Microsoft's short Permissive License. More info in John Lam's blog.

This is one of many existing Ruby implementations, but the fact Microsoft is behind it makes some doubt of its viability: will it be a compatible Ruby when its main author may not look at the reference impletentation's source code? Martin Fowler, Ola Bini and Charles Nutter have doubts.
